Spartan Holds On In Even Closer Fall Series 2

10/19 - The second meet of the Fall Series proved to be an even closer affair than the first. Gwinnett Aquatics led after day 1, Spartan moved to the lead in session 2 and held on as GwinAq closed to within 30 points in the final session. Spartan was led by their 15O girls and 11-12 boys.

It was also one of the fastest fall 2 meets in the 8-year series with over 170 swimmers in the 500 and even a new pool record.

This was the 2nd of the 3-meet series. The last one will be November 1-2, after which the team champions and individual high point winners will be crowned. You can view the current team scores and high point leaders on the Fall Series page.

Gwinnett Aquatics, led by their 10U girls, were the closest we've come to winning a fall series meet since 2019!   Reynolds Bowers, Kate Breiding, Emily Hardy, Morgan Henry, Cameron Jones, Jacob Matthew, Ainara Sanchez, and Baylor Stanton all won events. 17 more swimmers achieved their first time standards of the season, and three more their first state cuts.

Baylor Stanton who got his first AAAA time while Emma Gonzalez and Bowers got her first AAA and Ella Wells her first AA. Paige Johnson, Cate Joyce, Jacob Matthew, Jude Stanton, Jimmy Wang, and Emery Wells all picked up thier first A times. Lucas Babcock, Jude El-Alam, John Matthew, Eva Saldana, Morgan Sevier, and Victoria Tannure got their first BBs, while Giselle Davis and Karylin Lee got their first B times!  In addition Nate Beeney, Ella Wells, and Abbie Wong got their first state cut. 

The next meet in November 1-2, back at Freeman Aquatic Center at the Greater Atlanta Christian School, with some new longer events and our first relays of the season!

Spartan Wins Pentathlon, Next Up Fall Series 2 October 17-18

10/5 - SPAC won the first meet of the Fall Series today at their pool at GAC in one of the tightest 3-way races we've had. SPAC scored 645 points to GA's 587 (2nd) and LIFE's 521 (3rd). New member of the Fall Series League, Metro Atlanta Aquatic Club (MAAC) was fourth but picked up two individual wins.  In addition swimmers were ranked based on their combined time in all five races with the winners in each age group winning a special "Pentathlon Champion" Fall Series T-Shirt Based on cumulative time for all five events the T-Shirt winners for best times in each age group were:

8&Under:  Ainara Sanchez, Jordan Ha
9 yr olds: Reynolds Bowers, Dennis Sarajlic
10 yr olds: Emma Gonzalez, Ethan van Maanen
11 yr olds:  Zoe Greene, Devon Lekawa
12 yr olds: Aliana McCann, Keegan Roney
13 yr olds: Isabel Traynor, Ian Hwang
14 yr olds: Haley Pierce, Cameron Jones
15&Over: Sarah Paisley Owen, Baylor Stanton.

The meet was also the first of the Fall Series for which there will be High point winners. There is a link to this meet's high point leaders below.  The High point winners in each age group (standard double year) at the end of the series will receive a High Point winner towel!

For Gwinnett Aquatics, we scored more points than in the last two years and moved up a spot and within 50 points of winning!   70 swimmers achieved their first time standards of the season, and 22 their first state cuts, including some for the first time.

Those numbers included Tadd Duffield who got his first AAA (All- Star) times while Emma Gonzalez and Nick Ramdeo got their first A's, Timi Ajigbolamu, Harrison Riggle and Allen Zhu their first BBs, and a whopping 11 swimmers got their first B times!  They were: Lucas Babcock, Shaylah Bopp, TJ Davis, Kaira Duncan, Will Hillesheim, Zoe JInadu, Alex Matveev, Mason Meng, Ainara and JJ Sanchez, and Evan Strokan. In addition Ajigbolamu got his first ever state cut. 

The next meet in October 17-18, back at Freeman Aquatic Center at the Greater Atlanta Christian School, with some new longer events.
